Ummmm why wpuld someone hit a grass type with a water type move? Seems a bit, well to put it nicely, like a good shitty plan. Good cause hey smart combo. Shitty cause well no ones going to attack you with water
The idea is you have a pokemon weak to water out, they swap in a water type to counter. You read that they will use a water type move instead of some set up, swap sceptile in, and boom, speed doubled and increased sp atk. As long as you have proper type coverage moves (idk what moves he can learn but a rock move or just any special attack helps) you can sweep anything with mega speed and mega dmg
I can’t believe how many dumbasses there are in the comments. Obviously no sane person will hit sceptile with a water type move you have to bait out the water type move with another pokemon and then switch to sceptile. This is a good basic strategy.
This works with a special set, but if you're running a physical set (more consistent but has less overall damage), Swords Dance Focus Sash is better. Just hope your opponent has some squirt gun for this to work.
i feel like it plays similar to psychic or grass seed sceptile but the main issue is building a team around it, sceptile is def not a main sweaper but prob jsut a pivot option
