Nidoking has very interesting design elements that make it stand out amongst not only the entire pokemon cast but even its own family line. It almost looks as though the idea of evolving from a moonstone mutated it to have these strange features that were previously unseen. Obviously it’s Kaiju esque appearance makes for a great design for children (the initial target audience) to absolutely think is the coolest thing they’ve ever seen. This power design is reflected by being Giovanni’s ace pokemon to imply its strong and threatening presence. The shiny isn’t really as great as its pre-evolutions’ in my opinion and I think the more eye-catching blue was better.
