The shinies in Gen 1-5 were calculated using an algorithm on the color wheel. I defer you to Lockstin’s vid on it. It’s why many older shinies are crap. But Gen 6 and after are hand picked, with a few exceptional changes like Charizard’s black shiny. Plusle and Minun (and apparently also Pikachu) just aren’t important enough 😂
Love the insight with wondering if their banned from sporting events. Love thinking about how they would be actually used and the laws of this world. Maybe they would actually be coaches Pokémon to help their team when they get tired

I mean, swapping colours can confuse a lot of people, unless you look at their cheeks and tail.

Because since G3 gamefreack used an alghoritm to set up the shinies instead of doing it manually. That's how we ended up with this dumb stuff
Because shinies back in the day were algorithmically generated.
